Kaban Hotel and Casino has opened in Boracay, adding a new tourism and entertainment destination to the island famed for its beaches.
The six-storey Kaban — which takes its name from the Filipino word for "treasure chest" — opened last September 16, marking the occasion with an outdoor LED reveal and a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by officials and community representatives from Boracay and the municipality of Malay, Aklan.
"As we open our doors, our greatest hope is not simply for Kaban to shine in Boracay but to help the island and its people shine even brighter on the world stage," said President and CEO Kevin Wong.
Kaban features an 88-room hotel, a 2,000-square-meter PAGCOR-licensed casino, seven dining concepts and a range of leisure facilities.
Gaming is limited to guests aged 21 and above and is subject to responsible gaming rules, with opening promotions offering millions of pesos in prizes.

Meanwhile, the facilities include a spa, pool deck, VIP lounge, children's play area, café and sky bar overlooking the island.
Kaban forms part of a 23-hectare master-planned development by Golden TW Realty and Development Corp. in Barangay Yapak in the northern part of the island.
Kaban also noted that 40 percent of its employees were from Aklan, highlighting its commitment to local hiring and community development.
The September 16 opening serves as a soft launch, while a larger, grand launch is scheduled for October 11.
