The inaugural Mr. & Ms. Chinatown Global Philippines formally introduced its 26 official candidates during a media launch at Century Park Hotel, marking the start of the national search that celebrates heritage, talent, and modern Filipino-Chinese identity.
The event also recognized standout contenders. Izobel Uy and Ben Siao were named Mr. & Ms. Century Park Hotel, while Jyron Ngo and Bianca Codilla received the Media Rising Stars awards.
Codilla, one of this year’s awardees, said she embraced the competition by staying true to herself.
“I saw the opportunity and I grabbed it. I’ve been preparing mentally, emotionally, and physically because what really matters is your mind, body, and heart. As long as everything is aligned, everyone will do great,” she said.

Contestants also spoke about their preparations, ranging from workouts and strict diets to mastering Q&A and pasarela routines.
“Mas maganda po kasi kapag tutungtong ka sa competition, kargado ka ng pinractice mong pasarela at Q&A,” said Andy Mediamar.
Kirby Mark Chen added that his journey included content creation and acting projects, saying he was determined to prove his readiness for the crown.
“I'm here and I want to show to the world that I am more ready to be the next Mr. And Ms. Chinatown winner,” he said.
ABS-CBN Business Unit Head Raymund Dizon underscored the network’s support for the candidates.
"As head of Star Hunt, we did what we did best, and that is to embark on a nationwide search for Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Philippines, holding auditions across Metro Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao. Out of 2,000 dreamers, 26 were chosen. Every candidate earned their spot; nothing was pre-selected. Each one showed up, stood in line, and poured their hearts out to chase their dreams," he said.
Cristal Bagatsing, Director of the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts of Manila, highlighted the cultural significance of the pageant.
“May this pageant inspire everyone to embrace their roots, share their stories, and shine proudly on the global stage. Knowing that the oldest Chinatown is in Manila, we are proud to be partners in this journey,” she noted.
