John Wayne Alba concludes his Mister International 2026 journey with a Top 10 finish, falling short to keep the crown in the terrain of the Philippines on Saturday, September 26.
The 22-year-old was hoping to extend the Philippines' reign after Kirk Bondad won the international title in 2025.
Alba was among the candidates who advanced to the competition's final stage following the preliminary rounds.
In the early segments of the final competition, Alba first walked the swimwear segment, bringing the Pinoy charm to spice up the competition.
His performance guaranteed him a spot in the Top 10, where he flexed a Nat Manilag evening wear creation.
However, Alba's performance was not sufficient to oust strong and crowd-favorite contestants in the competition, leaving him among the four delegates who were denied entry into the next leg of the competition.
Born and raised in Italy to Filipino parents, Alba worked various jobs in the country, including as a plumber and factory worker, before becoming a carbon-fiber technician and eventually leading a production line.
He later pursued modeling, entertainment, and pageantry in the Philippines.
Alba has competed in several competitions before earning the Mister International Philippines 2026 title. He represented the Philippines at Top Model of Universe 2023, where he finished second runner-up, and was named Mister Star Italia 2024. He also competed as Mister Republika ng Pilipinas Europe Teen 2022.
During the preliminaries, Alba showcased his physique in swimwear before appearing in evening wear by Filipino designer Nat Manilag.
He also presented a classic Barong Tagalog designed by Albert Andrada for the national costume segment.
Alba’s Top 12 finish ends the Philippines’ bid for a third Mister International crown but keeps the country among the competition’s powerhouses.
