MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will embark on a working visit to Singapore on Oct. 7 to 11 upon the invitation of Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong.
The invitation was extended by Wong during Marcos’ visit last July which reflects “the continued importance placed on reinforcing bilateral cooperation”.

This is Marcos’ fifth Singapore visit and 47th foreign trip since he assumed the presidency.
The visit is part of the Philippines’ initiative to deepen its relations with Singapore, widen its economic engagement and advance cooperation with various sectors, Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Analyn Ratonel said in a statement on Tuesday.
The DFA touted the visit as an opportunity to expand partnership in emerging fields such as digital technology, green economy, smart infrastructure, AI, renewable energy and healthcare.

It said the “timely” visit ahead of the turnover of the ASEAN Chairmanship to Singapore “provides an opportunity to further deepen coordination with Singapore and align priorities as the country prepares to assume the ASEAN Chairmanship.”
During his visit, Marcos will attend the 24th Forbes Global CEO Conference where he is expected to meet with business leaders including Forbes Media Chair and Editor-in-Chief Steve Forbes.
There, he is also expected to present investment opportunities in the Philippines to over 470 business leaders.
The chief executive will also visit the Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute which will provide insights into Singapore's expertise on nuclear technology and safety.
Marcos will be hosted to dinner by Wong during the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix 2026, one of the world’s most expensive races.
The said race, according to the DFA, “brings together government leaders, business executives, and investors from around the world.”
“It would provide an opportunity for informal engagements to complement his meetings focused on attracting investment and strengthening the Philippines’ partnerships,” the agency said.
The DFA noted that it was not aware of any engagement of the president with the Filipino community.
Some 220,000 Filipinos in Singapore “actively contribute to the economic development of both countries,” according to the DFA.
