MANILA — The Bureau of Immigration arrested a 62-year-old American national wanted by US authorities in connection with a sexual offense case in Mississippi.
The BI identified the arrested foreigner as John Raymond Fenty, who was apprehended by operatives of the BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) in Barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
"Sa pagtutulungan po ng FSU at by the request of the US government, nadakip po itong si Fenty sa Cebu. And upon his capture po, he is temporarily detained right now sa ating Mandaue office," said Anisha Hassan, BI spokesperson, in a phone interview.
According to the BI, Fenty is wanted to stand trial in Kemper County, Mississippi, where he will face a sexual battery charge involving a person described in US records as mentally defective, mentally incapacitated, or physically helpless.

The BI said Fenty arrived in the Philippines as a tourist on July 21, 2026, and subsequently applied for an extension of his authorized stay.
The BI said there is so far no record indicating that Fenty is wanted for a separate criminal offense in the Philippines.
Fenty is currently under temporary detention at the National Bureau of Investigation office in Mandaue City while his deportation proceedings are ongoing.
"Ongoing na po 'yung kanyang deportation proceedings. So pag na-issue na po ng Board of Commissioners yung kanyang summary deportation order, he will be immediately deported and included in the Bureau’s blacklist and barred from re-entering na the Philippines," said Hassan.
