Relatives of the Filipino passengers involved in the deadly bus crash in Germany are asking for prayers and privacy as their loved ones continue to recover in hospitals.
A son of one of the passengers confined at Landsberg Klinikum said the incident has been a traumatic experience for their family.
His mother sustained chest pains and bruises in several parts of her body.
The family declined to comment further on the accident, saying they are waiting for the results of the police investigation.
Another passenger, identified as Niel, suffered bruises on his face. He said he is still experiencing pain but is more worried about his wife, who sustained more serious injuries.
Niel said they were supposed to attend the Oktoberfest for the first time when the accident happened.
He said most of the passengers were asleep when the bus crashed, so they did not know what caused the accident.
Niel's wife remains confined in the hospital, along with other Filipino passengers being treated at Landsberg Klinikum and a hospital in Munich.
The two Filipino passengers who died in the crash are set to be repatriated to the Philippines.
The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt, together with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), is assisting the injured passengers and their families, as well as the families of the deceased.
Consul General Marie Yvette Banson and OWWA administrator Atty. Patricia Yvonne Py Cauanan visited the injured Filipino passengers in the hospital and reached out to the families of the two Filipinos who died in the crash.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
