Paper Rex (PRX) slipped pat G2 Esports (G2), securing high-stakes victory at VALORANT Champions Shanghai, 2-1.
The W Gaming squad remained unstoppable for G2 as they failed to block the train again since their last match at VALORANT Masters: Santiago.
PRX had a strong start at Split, but G2 took revenge and evened the series by halftime. They won the first three rounds of the second half, but G2 managed to dominate the remaining rounds, closing the map at 13-9.
PRX fought back in Haven, closing the first half at 8-4. G2 had a seven-round streak, but PRX managed to stop the comeback at 13-11.
In the decider Lotus, both teams tightened the series, ending the first half by 6-6. PRX won the first round in the second half.
G2 tried to shut them down in three rounds but still failed to be aggressive, concluding at 13-9.
Wang "Jinggg" Jie top-fragged the match for PRX with 61 kills, 48 deaths, 12 assists while on Raze and Phoenix throughout the series.
With this win, PRX will advance to the next stage, guaranteeing a spot in the playoffs.
