BANGKOK – After capturing the lone gold medal for boxing in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, Olympian Eumir Marcial will be carrying the flag at the closing ceremony.
Marcial took home the only gold medal among the boxers on Friday, after beating Indonesia's Maikhel Muskita in the final of the men's light heavyweight class.

The Philippine Olympic Committee made the announcement on Friday ahead of the closing program to be held at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok.
The POC said around 30 delegates from the Philippines will be participating in the closing ceremony, including Leyte Representative Richard Gomez and his daughter Juliana.
The elder Gomez bagged silver with the Philippine Sporting Clays Team, while Juliana clinched bronze in the women's team epee event.
Philippine Fencing Association President Rene Gacuma earlier alleged he was assaulted by Gomez supposedly over the decision to replace Philippine fencing team member fencer Alexa Larrazabal.
Gomez questioned Gacuma's decision to replace the "best women's epée player."
The closing ceremonies will feature highlights from the 33rd edition by Thailand and a parade of athletes from the 10 participating nations.
The ceremony will likewise feature the official handover to Malaysia, the next host of the regional showcase in 2027, capped off by a performance.
Host Thailand topped the 33rd edition with 233 gold medals, 154 silvers, and 112 bronzes.
The Philippines finished in sixth place with 50 gold medals, 73 silvers and 153 bronzes.
