Filipino boxer Junmilardo Ogayre is out of medal contention in the 2026 Asian Games after a lopsided loss to Uzbekistan's Abdumalik Khalokov, Sunday at the Nishio Gymnasium.

Khalokov, a gold medalist in the 2024 Paris Olympics, scored a unanimous decision win in their quarterfinal showdown in the men's 60kg weight class.

It was a comfortable win for Khalokov, who took all three rounds in the five judges' scorecards.

Ogayre was also handed a warning in the second round.

With his loss, the Philippine boxing team's medal hopes are now in the hands of Olympians Carlo Paalam and Nesthy Petecio.
