POC Media.The Philippines’ Rosegie Ramos fell short of the podium after finishing fourth in the women’s 53kg weightlifting competition of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Wednesday at the Nagoya City Trade and Industry Center in Japan.
Ramos posted a 203kg total, lifting 93kg in the snatch and 110kg in the clean and jerk.
The country’s bet successfully lifted 88kg, 91kg, and 93kg in the snatch before making good on her first two clean-and-jerk attempts at 105kg and 110kg.
Ramos, however, failed on her third clean-and-jerk attempt at 113kg, settling for fourth place.
North Korea’s Kang Hyon-gyong successfully defended her Asian Games title, setting a new Asiad record with a 223kg total from a 99kg snatch and 124kg clean and jerk.
China’s Zhao Jinlan took the silver medal with 218kg, including a 94kg snatch and 124kg clean and jerk.
Meanwhile, Thailand’s Surodchana Khambao claimed the bronze with 214kg, including a 95kg snatch and 119kg clean and jerk.
