(UPDATED) Carlos Yulo clinched the Philippines' second gold medal at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 after emerging triumphant in the vault final on Friday at the Nagoya General Gymnasium.
He scored an average of 14.599 to top the vault, after tallying 14.733 in the first, built on 5.6 difficulty and 9.133 execution, and 14.466 in the second which had 5.2 difficulty and 9.266 execution.

Yulo made it back-to-back golden finishes, just a day after ruling the floor exercise final.
The country's first double Olympic champion still has another shot for a gold medal as he competes in the men's parallel bars later today.
Meanwhile, Miguel Besana, the second Filipino representative in the vault final, finished fifth after posting 13.783.
Edging Besana out was fourth-placer Jaeho Kim of South Korea, who missed the podium with score of 14.016. Nailing the bronze medal was Ka Ki Ng of Hong Kong with 14.116, while Mahdi Olfati of Iran, who dazzled with his first vault, listing 15.100, only had 13.966 in the second for an average of 14.533, enough for the silver behind Yulo.
