Celebrity couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo recalled an unforgettable moment from their wedding day.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, the couple revealed that Dennis left their wedding rings at home on their special day.
"Nung time ng wedding namin, naiwan niya 'yung singsing so boyset na boyset ako, siyempre hormones ng pregnant woman di ba," Jennylyn recalled.
The actress went on: "Tsaka sinabihan ko siya. Sobrang specific ng instruction ko: 'Kunin mo 'yung ring, nandito sa bag ko, ito 'yung color ng box."'
Dennis recounted that there were two boxes at that time, and he unfortunately grabbed the wrong box.
"Dalawa po 'yung box, 'yung isa walang laman, iyon 'yung nakuha ko, iyon 'yung nadampot ko," he recounted.
Jennylyn recalled telling Dennis, "Sabi ko sa kanya, 'Paano kung sa Tagaytay tayo kinasal? Papaano mo kukunin sa Quezon City.'"
The actress admitted that she was not in the best mood when she was walking down the aisle at that time. "Nung feeling nung naglalakad ako, talagang may inis talaga," she remembered.
Dennis highlighted that the wedding would have still pushed through even without the rings. "May singsing man o wala kaya pa ring ituloy ang kasal kahit na alambre lang 'yan," he pointed out.
The couple only realized the rings were missing when the priest asked for them. "Nandun na kami, hinihingi na ni father 'yung singsing. Asan yung ring? Binigay 'yung box walang laman,"Jennylyn relayed.
Fortunately, their house was just minutes away from the wedding venue. Their driver returned to their house and grabbed the rings.
Dennis and Jennylyn tied the knot on November 15, 2021. The Everything About My Wife stars got married in civil wedding in Quezon City.
In the same interview, they were asked how they sustain their relationship through the years. Dennis shared: "Ini-enjoy namin 'yung journey. Pwede ko siyang i-compare sa isang video game na maraming stages pero nakakatuwa bawat stage na matatapos mo, and inaaabangan mo kung ano pa 'yung mga next stages na matatapos mo, and mga iba pang pangarap na gusto niyong mangyari."
Jennylyn added that small romantic gestures keep their bond strong.
"Siguro hindi namin kinakalimutan ang isa't isa, 'yung magpapakilig pa rin ang isa't isa. Importante na inaaalagaan ko pa rin siya, bukod sa inaalagaan ko 'yung buong pamilya. Oras para sa kanya, oras para sa aming dalawa," the actress highlighted.
