Iya Villania looked back on her unique experiences giving birth to each of her five children, recounting what those first moments felt like with each one in an interview with Smart Parenting.
The actress began by recounting the birth of her eldest son, Primo.
"'Yung kay Primo it was the relief after doing something so hard. I didn't know what to expect with that delivery na para akong nabinyagan na, my gulay, ano 'yun? What on earth was that? So that was the relief there. And of course, the relief na I'm okay, I'm alive, he's okay, he's alive," she recalled.
For her second child, Leon, Iya described a different kind of relief. She explained: "Because nga nag-poop na siya sa loob so the relief na na-ere ko siya, and they didn't have to cut me, and he was okay and he didn't ingest any of it."
The television host gave birth to her first daughter, Alana, as her third child. "With Alana, it was the relief na may babae na ako hindi ko na kailangan ulitin," she said.
Iya likened the experience of giving birth to her fourth child, Astro, to that of Primo. particularly because it was the first time she gave birth without an epidural. "Kay Astro parang kay Primo because kay Astro 'yung walang epidural."
Finally, for her youngest, Anya, Iya reflected on the emotions of closing a meaningful chapter in her life. "Kay Anya, there was so much joy especially with how everything unfolded and of course at the end of it, I was just so grateful that I had given birth to the fifth, that I got through that pregnancy, that I got through the delivery, that she came out healthy, that I survived it. It was all of that and in just knowing that that's the end of that chapter," she stated.
Back in September 2024, Iya declared that her fifth baby would be her last one with husband Drew Arellano. Drew also recently made headlines for undergoing a vasectomy.
