Carlos Yulo is giving all the credit to his faith after securing his second gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya.
Following his victory in the men’s vault final on September 25, the two-time Olympic gold medalist took to Instagram to share a message about his latest achievement and the role of his faith throughout his journey in the international competition.
“GOD did it again 🥇🙏🏻 Thank You LORD for making all things possible! All glory to You. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13 ✝️,” he wrote.
Along with the message, Carlos posted a reel featuring highlights of his gold-medal-winning performance at the Nagoya General Gymnasium, where he scored an average of 14.599 to top the vault final.
His latest victory also drew congratulatory messages from fellow athletes, celebrities, and fans.
“Another one!!! Congrats again and again,” wrote fellow athlete Margielyn Didal.
“👏👏👏 Congratulations! Salamat ng marami mabuhay ka,” added host Amy Perez.
“Congrats champ! Thanks for showing us that we can all come back after setbacks!” one fan commented.
The second gold medal holds extra meaning for Carlos after he fell during his routine in the qualification round of the vault event. He managed to bounce back in the final and finish on top of the podium.
Carlos won his first-ever Asian Games gold medal in the men’s floor exercise final on September 24.
After that victory, he also shared a message of gratitude on Instagram, writing: “Thank you Lord sa lahat ng biyaya at mga pag-subok na binibigay mo po 🙏🏻”
He continued: “Hindi magiging posible lahat ng 'to kung hindi dahil po sa inyo Lord God☝🏻🥹! Hindi naging madali ang mga na experience ko bago makarating dito sa Japan at habang nandidito sa Asian Games, kaya sobrang natutuwa po ako na nasungkit natin ang gintong medalya🥇”
Carlos also expressed his appreciation for his coaches, the Philippine Sports Commission, and Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) president Cynthia Carrion for their continued support throughout his athletic journey.
He likewise thanked his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose, for constantly encouraging him as he pursued his goals in the competition.
“Thank you mahal ko sa palaging pag-papalakas ng loob at patuloy na pag-push sakin para mas lalo ko pang galingan at mas mahalin yung ginagawa ko inside and outside ng karera na to 🤍,” he wrote.
“At siyempre, sa lahat po ng mga prayer warriors ko, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat!!! ❤️,” Carlos maintained.
Aside from his two gold medals, Carlos also competed in the parallel bars final, where he placed fourth.
