Carlos Yulo concludes Asiad campaign with 4th-place finish in parallel bars final

Carlos Yulo, already a two-time Asian Games gold medalist, concluded his campaign in the continental showpiece with a fourth-place finish in the parallel bars final on Friday at the Nagoya General Gymnasium.

Entering his third title stage as Asiad champion in floor exercise and vault, Yulo tallied 14.300 to narrowly miss out on a podium finish, as China's Zou Jingyuan snagged the gold with a score of 15.500, anchored on 6.0 difficulty, 9.400 execution, including a 0.1 bonus.

Securing the silver medal was Shinnosuke Oka of Japan, after producing 14.500, while Rasuljon Abdurakhimov of Uzbekistan was the other medalist, snatching the bronze with 14.433.

Still, it was a stellar Asiad stint for the country's first double Olympic gold medalist, taking home the Philippines' two golds by far in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games.

Yulo's brother Eldrew is set to participate in the horizontal bar final later in the day, the last participant for the Philippine men's artistic gymnastics team.
