It’s not that common to see celebrity couple Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado share projects onscreen. Earlier this year, they were paired in the romantic drama film Everything About My Wife. But it’s actually been more than a decade since they last worked on a soap opera together. They first played a husband and wife onscreen in the 2015 series My Faithful Husband.
During his appearance at the Watsons Great Health Fest event in SM Mall of Asia last May 13, Dennis shared how he feels about preparing for his upcoming new project that reunites him onscreen again with his significant other.
“Ang pinagkakaguluhan ko kanina lang, may photo shoot kami para doon sa show na yun, yung Sanggang-Dikit na kasama ko diyan ang aking asawa na si Jennylyn Mercado. First time namin ulit na mag-teleserye in more than ten years. Kasi yung huli naming ginawa My Faithful Husband pa,” he shared.
The 44-year-old kapuso actor also talked about his latest travel plans and his experience joining a race event to help raise funds for the Movie Works Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund).
"Nung isang araw, tumakbo naman kami sa fun run para kay Alden Richards, para sa Mowelfund. Basically, yun lang naman. And next month, pupunta naman kami sa Milan, Zurich, at saka sa Dubai para sa mag-taping nitong bago naming programa. Bawal na bawal magkasakit dahil napakadaming trabaho,” he added.

During the Watsons event where he represented a medical brand, Dennis also talked about the importance of keeping himself healthy despite his busy work schedule.
“Itong taon na ito, sunod sunod yung mga blessings na dumarating, hindi lang sa akin kundi sa buong pamilya. And hindi puwedeng magkasakit ka. Kailangan lagi kang malakas. Mabuti na lang meron akong pamilya na sumusuporta sa lahat ng kailangan gawin,” he said.

Apart from acting, Dennis has been busy running his production company BrightBurn Entertainment with his wife Jennylyn. They successfully produced their first film project Green Bones last year which won numerous awards at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival including the much coveted MMFF Best Picture title as well as a Best Actor nod for Dennis.
In a previous interview, the Green Bones star also admitted he is excited to collaborate with more artists this year, both as a producer and a co-star.
“Ngayon, masaya kami na yung mga ideas namin, na-vo-voice out na namin at na-ma-materialize namin into projects na noon pa namin gusto gawin na hindi namin nagawa nung mga artista pa kami. So ito yung parang naging chance din namin na mangyari yung mga gusto naming mangyari na projects na dati pa namin na-e-envision.
"Siyempre ngayon, pare-pareho kaming nagsisimula pa lang kami sa kumpanya namin. Siguro ang pinaka-challenge lang dun ay yung sa dami ng nag-pi-pitch ng project, kailangan talagang piliin namin ng mabuti yung mga gagawin namin dahil siyempre kailangan makuha rin namin yung tamang timpla, magawa namin yung mga tamang timpla ng mga proyekto na mag-a-appeal din sa mga manunuod,” he shared.
