Actress Jennylyn Mercado penned a short yet heartfelt birthday message for her husband Dennis Trillo who turned 44 on Election Day, May 12.
In an Instagram post, Jennylyn expressed her enormous love for her lifetime partner, sharing a photo of Dennis who was all smiles while holding a stuffed toy.
“Celebrating the wonderful man you are today and every day. Happy Birthday, Papa! @dennistrillo Maraming salamat sa pagmamahal. Your love is our constant source of comfort and joy. We love you so much,” she captioned her post.
Some of their fellow celebrities also expressed their birthday greetings for the actor, including Rita Avila and Jerald Napoles.
Netizens also showered their birthday wishes for Dennis in the post’s comment section.
With his birthday falling on Election Day, Dennis urged Filipino voters to select the country’s leaders wisely, as reported by Inquirer.
At a brand event, Dennis said that he will not be endorsing candidates for the midterm elections.
“We chose to be neutral especially when it comes to politics,” he said. “Because it is difficult—when you declare support for a candidate, those who do not support them might say something unfavorable toward you based on their beliefs.”
But he emphasized on the importance of choosing wisely when practicing the right of suffrage.
“This is a chance for your decisions to be heard, for you to exercise your right in voting for those who will lead the country,” he said, addressing the general public.
Meanwhile, Dennis also paid tribute to his wife in an Instagram post on Mother’s Day.

Calling Jennylyn a “Super Woman,” he gave his message for his partner.
“Para sa aming Super Woman, isang pag pupugay sa’yo at sa lahat ng mga dakilang ina na kagaya mo,” he wrote in her post’s caption.
"Maraming Salamat sa lahat ng pag mamahal, pag aaruga at tiyaga. We love you. Happy Mother’s Day Mama Jen,” he added, expressing his gratitude for his wife.
