Events designer Gideon Hermosa shared the creative concept behind the venue where Carlos Yulo proposed to Chloe San Jose.
In an Instagram post, Gideon revealed how his team transformed the hillside setting in Tagaytay for the intimate proposal, which took place on December 18, 2025.
"Not all the work we do is ours to share. On December 18, 2025, @c_edrielzxs asked @chloeanjeleigh to marry him on a hillside we filled with candlelight. Soft gold on every tier, every step, every stem. And one line in red, because the question deserved its own color," Gideon posted on Instagram page.
He went on: "For nine months, it stayed between the two of them. So it stayed with us too. I understand why they held it close. Some love doesn’t need an audience first."
Gideon also expressed his gratitude to Carlos and Chloe for entrusting his team with such an important milestone in their relationship.
"Carlos, Chloe, thank you for trusting us with your yes," he remarked.
The couple announced their engagement on Monday, September 28.
A YouTube vlog documenting Carlos's proposal was also released on the same day.
“Nagsimula talaga siya pumasok sa isip ko before ako pumunta sa Japan for training camp. September 27 talagang hindi na ako makatulog and sobrang kabado kasi iniisip ko pa paano siya ipreprepare and also alam lahat ni Chloe talaga yung mga ginagawa ko–– doon ako pinakanahirapan talaga,” the Olympic champion shared in the YouTube vlog.

During the proposal, Carlos surprised Chloe with two engagement rings, explaining that the gesture was inspired by the two Olympic gold medals he won.
“Si Chloe talaga yung tumulong sa akin magkaroon ng two gold medals sa Olympics. Para sa akin, siya yung gold medal ng puso ko so dalawang engagement ring yung binigay ko sa kanya,” Carlos shared.
He added: “Dahil tinulungan mo ako maabot yung pangarap ko. Sobrang mahal na mahal kita, mahal. It’s another ring for you. Hindi siya traditional–– maybe ako lang gumawa nito. Pero I’m really grateful, this is for you–– this is my gift for you."
