Filipino gymnast and Olympic champion Carlos Yulo has proposed to his long time girlfriend, singer and social media influencer Chloe San Jose. The newly engaged couple showed a glimpse of the proposal on her YouTube channel earlier this week.
Chloe and Carlos have been engaged to each other since December of 2025 but kept it a secret to everyone outside of their family and close friends who were present at the proposal.

Chloe was in disbelief as she didn’t expect that Carlos would propose to her right after they just got back from Japan. While she already had an idea of his proposal, she didn’t know that he had already planned two months ahead.
“Nagsimula talaga siya pumasok sa isip ko before ako pumunta sa Japan for training camp. September 27 talagang hindi na ako makatulog and sobrang kabado kasi iniisip ko pa paano siya ipreprepare and also alam lahat ni Chloe talaga yung mga ginagawa ko–– doon ako pinakanahirapan talaga,” Carlos said.
As Chloe happily said yes to the proposal, Carlos had another surprise up his sleeve: another ring. He credited her for being his inspiration and his motivation for winning the two historic gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
“Si Chloe talaga yung tumulong sa akin magkaroon ng two gold medals sa Olympics. Para sa akin, siya yung gold medal ng puso ko so dalawang engagement ring yung binigay ko sa kanya,” Carlos expressed.
“Dahil tinulungan mo ako maabot yung pangarap ko. Sobrang mahal na mahal kita, mahal. It’s another ring for you. Hindi siya traditional–– maybe ako lang gumawa nito. Pero I’m really grateful, this is for you–– this is my gift for you,” he added.

The two engagement rings were placed in Chloe’s left and right ring fingers. Carlos explained that this was so both hands have a ring when they hold hands.
Recalling the proposal, the singer and social media influencer can’t help but become emotional as the reality of the moment slowly sinks in.
“I just didn’t expect that everything’s gonna happen the way that we were talking about. Pero now it happened in real life, syempre it feels very different,” Chloe shared.
The announcement of their proposal came after a successful Asian Games stint for Carlos who bagged two gold medals–– adding to the collection of his accolades throughout the years.
