South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun said Thursday he was grateful for the continued love and support from his Filipino fans, whom he is set to meet at an event that marks another step in the resumption of his career.
"Thank you for the love and support that you've been giving me consistently for such a long time," the 38-year-old actor said through an interpreter at a press conference held a day before his brand-sponsored "Our Forever With You" fan meeting at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday.
Several fans heard Soo-hyun's message in person, as some were present at the press conference.
Asked to describe his Filipino fans, the "Queen of Tears" star said he would immediately think of their "warmth," "sparkling eyes" and "passion."
In fact, Soo-hyun was able to experience that warmth and passion the moment he arrived in Manila, as he recalled: "The moment I got out of the airport, I was able to see fans cheering for me, greeting for me, showing their expressions for me."
"I was even able to see fans who were waving their hands for me, some were like stomping their feet for me. So all those moments and expressions that the fans have shown for me, those were really memorable in my mind," he said.
Soo-hyun said he heard fans had prepared a segment for him for the fan meeting, which was something he was "looking forward to the most."
"Of course, when I stand on the stage and interact with fans, the good energy that I'll be receiving from my fans is [also] something that I really look forward to," he said.

While a trip has yet to be "planned," Soo-hyun said he hopes to visit Cebu if he gets more time to spend in the country.
"Maybe I could visit Cebu, sight-see the sea and feel the wind," he said.
The fan meeting is Soo-hyun's latest in the Philippines, following his "Eyes On You" Asia tour stop at the Araneta Coliseum in June 2024.

It also marks another step in Soo-hyun's return to the public eye after about a year away following allegations that he had dated the late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor — claims the actor denied and that police later declined to pursue, citing insufficient evidence.
