Kapamilya actors Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto have been working as an on screen couple since 2016. From their debut film, Vince & Kath & James to the highly anticipated Always Yours, Never Mine, the two have seen each other’s growth as professionals.
In their recent guest appearance on Bianca Gonzalez’s Paano Ba ‘To podcast, Joshua and Julia were asked to describe each other from 10 years ago up to the present day.

For Joshua, the actress was “fearless” 10 years ago as he saw her being so open to do anything when she knows she’ll be able to learn lessons. As the years went by, the Kapamilya actor said that Julia has matured and is more confident with her decision making.
“I think fearless kasi siyempre pag bata ka, hindi ka pa takot magkamali and the more na magkamali ka, the better kasi mas marami kang matututunan. 2026 Julia, I’d say grounded kasi siyempre pag nag mamature na rin yung tao mas alam na nila yung dapat nilang gawin. Hindi niya na kailangan patunayan yung sarili niya,” Joshua explained.
On her part, Julia shared how “secure” the Kapamilya actor is with himself now compared to 10 years ago when he was just beginning his journey in the entertainment industry.
“2016 Joshua was very shy–– very, very shy. Pero 2026 Joshua is more secure with himself in a very good way. Secured like confident in himself,” Julia quipped.

In the same interview, the two revealed the characters they loved seeing the other one in. For Julia, it was Caloy from Love You To The Stars and Back while Joshua enjoyed seeing her play Luna, from their latest film, Always Yours, Never Mine.
“My favorite is still Caloy from Love You to the Stars and Back. It’s still the best, most raw, he didn’t overthink it, he just really became his character and you were so fantastic in that movie,” Julia said.
“Ngayon, masasabi ko si Luna kasi siguro dahil ito yung recent rin at nakita ko rin kung paano ka nag grow as an actress. I mean from Vince & Kath & James, Love You to the Stars and Back, lahat ng nagawa natin movie, up until now, nakita ko yung atake mo dito. Sobrang subtle lang na parang kahit tignan lang kita, alam ko na yung nararamdaman ng character. I know sometimes nag ooverthink ka na hindi maganda yung ginagawa mo pero ako na nakakakita, masasabi kong magaling ka. Ang ganda ng performance na binibigay mo dito,” Joshua complimented.
Meanwhile, their latest film, Always Yours, Never Mine, is now available in cinemas nationwide. This marks the 10th year that Joshua and Julia partnered up on the big screens.
