Katrina Halili got real and vulnerable in a recent episode of Sheena Halili's vlog, opening up about how she finally found peace with her ex-partner and Katie's father, Kris Lawrence – a topic that has fueled reconciliation rumors among fans for months.
The conversation began on a light note, with Sheena gently checking in on how things were between Katrina and Kris after noticing that her friend looked more beautiful and was positively glowing.
“Kumusta ka? Blooming ka,” Sheena told Katrina. To which Katrina responded with: “Oh talaga?”
"Siguro kasi na-forgive mo na," Sheena asked, to which Katrina confirmed it wholeheartedly: "Ay, oo. The fact na kinakausap ko na siya, na-forgive na siya.”
Katrina then became emotional and began to cry, while Sheena teased her: “Sa ating dalawa, ikaw ‘yung talagang ganun. Alam niya. Huwag mo na akong idamay.”
Sheena then noted that Katrina had begun putting more effort into how she took care of herself.
“Ang ganda-ganda mo. Kahit ‘yung self-care mo sa video nakikita ko. For the longest time, wala,” Sheena said.
“Sabi ko, ‘Ayusin mo nga ‘yung damit mo’. Pupunta sa mall, naka-tsinelas. Ngayon, heels,” she added.
From there, Katrina got more candid about her own struggles as a mother, admitting to moments of guilt over not giving Katie enough of her time in the past.
"Marami akong napapanaginipan last year," she said, describing how heavy that period had been for her.
"Nagso-sorry ako kay Katie. Wala akong time, ganyan," she shared, visibly emotional as she opened up about a difficult stretch.
Sheena gently encouraged her cousin to keep going, telling her, "Okay lang ‘yun. Ngayon lang tayo nagkita. Magkuwento ka na," reassuring Katrina that it was safe to speak her truth.
Katrina also looked back on how distant she and Kris used to be, especially during the years when things weren't yet okay between them.
"Kaya ko inopen na okay na kasi dati pag nagkikita kami, nod lang ganun oh," she admitted, recalling how she used to avoid him entirely.
"Umaalis na ako. Hindi ko siya pinapansin," she said bluntly, adding that she'd sometimes leave altogether whenever he'd show up.
Sheena then echoed Katrina’s sentiments and reminisced about one of their past experiences, saying: “Minsan nga pa nga umaalis pa tayo kapag parating na siya. ‘Tara na, tara na. Umalis na tayo.'”
“Lalayas, di ba? Kasi nga ayoko siyang makita," Katrina told Sheena. "Ngayon malapitan,” Sheena teased at one point.
It's a stark contrast to where they are now, with Katrina admitting the shift wasn't easy but was necessary.
“Dati pagdating niya, magpapa-massage na ako sa taas para ‘di ko makita,” Katrina said.
“Tsaka masaya si Katie [at] masaya ka,” Sheena said.
