Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista shared that she is retracting her previous statement about choosing money over friendship. In a clip shared by Boy Abunda in his show earlier this week, the actress-host stressed how important friends and family are to her.
Heart previously drew attention to her statement in her game show when asked what was sadder, having no friends or having no money.

“Wala naman akong kaibigan, basta may pera, okay na ako,” she said in jest.
She immediately clarified that it was a joke, said in fun as the guests of that particular episode of her game show were her friends –– Iya Villania, Kris Bernal, and Camille Prats.
“Tapos, hindi pa tayo nagkikita-kita. Eh di mas gusto ko, may pera ako,” she explained.
Despite her previous clarification, netizens were thrown off with her comment and shared their opinions about it on social media. Other fans hoped that Heart would choose friendship over money, reminding her how important relationships are as well.

Heart put an end the discussion as she explained to Boy earlier this week that she was retracting her statement and agreed that friendship is indeed important. She added that she considers her friends as family–– something that she’d rather have than “an army of acquaintances.”
“Ang ibig sabihin ko, if I can explain, I’d rather have a handful of friends than an army of acquaintances. Pag sinabi mo kasing friends, parang friends lang. Iba yung parang trinato mong parang pamilya,” she said in the clip.
The Kapuso star injected some humor in the conversation by saying that she would also accept it if both friendship and money were given to her at the same time.
“Pero sa totoo lang para sa akin, babawiin ko yun. I’d rather have my family and my real friends than a lot of money. Pero kung sabay, okay lang din,” she ended.
Meanwhile, Heart is set to reunite with Kapamilya actor-director John Prats for a new project. It has been more than two decades since they worked as an onscreen tandem. Details of the new project have yet to be shared by both John and Heart but he maintained it’s a project that’s close to their hearts.
“The team discussed that we’re gonna have a project together. So, ‘yun pa lang ‘yung dini-disclose sa amin. Hindi pa namin alam kung ano pa ‘yung further details,” John previously said.
