Glaiza de Castro announced that she is expecting her first child with her Irish husband, David Rainey.
The actress took to social media on Saturday, September 12, to share the news and open up about the early stages of her pregnancy.
"Entering another chapter 🤰🏻," she wrote. "So glad I’m through the first trimester because… GRABE PALA. 😅 Will share more about this soon!"
Glaiza also shared how conversations with fellow mothers have helped her navigate the new experience.
"It’s also been so nice and comforting talking to other women about this journey as a first-time mom. I need all the help I can get," she highlighted.
The actress went on to express her newfound admiration for mothers. "Basta masasabi ko lang, ibang klase talaga ang mga nanay 💪❤️," she remarked.
Friends and fans online were quick to congratulate Glaiza following her announcement.
"Awwwwww congrats, Mommy G! 🤍 Praying for a safe and healthy journey for you both 😍🤍," one fan commented.
Glaiza married David in October 2021 through a Game of Thrones-inspired ceremony in Northern Ireland.
They later held their second wedding in the Philippines on January 23, 2023.
In an interview on Kring Kim's Think Talk Tea podcast in August 2025, Glaiza revealed that she and David were already planning to start a family.
"Gusto ko nang magka-anak," she said. "Isa 'yun sa projects na talagang tinatrabaho namin ngayon ni David."
At the time, Glaiza also shared that she was ready to shift her focus toward building a family after spending many years devoted to her acting career.
"Kasi parang ang tagal ko nang umaarte, ang tagal ko nang binigay 'yung sarili ko dun sa industriya na thankful naman ako talaga. Gusto kong i-emphasize 'yun. Napapagod ako, yes, [pero] wala akong hatred towards it. Kumbaga parang ano lang, ibang priority, kasi parang sa tagal ko na rin na ginagawa 'to, 'yun nga eh makikita mo na may ibang reality ka pa pala," she stated.

The actress added that meeting David helped her realize that there is a life outside the entertainment industry.
"Nung time na na-meet ko si David, 'yun ang isa sa mga realizations ko na reality ko ito pero iba 'yung reality ko 'pag kasama ko siya. Kasi hindi ako si Glaiza de Castro, hindi ako artista, hindi ko kailangang umarte, hindi ko kailangang isipin 'yung itsura ko, hindi ko kailangang isipin kung ano ang kailangan kong gawin. Ini-enjoy ko lang 'yung buhay ko na kasama siya na nasa ibang bansa ako.”
