Four years after getting married, Glaiza de Castro admitted that she is still discovering more about herself through her relationship with her Irish husband David Rainey. In a recent exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the 37-year-old artist and businesswoman talked about her travel itinerary and her exciting plans to expand her career next year.
“I didn’t expect na I could be so affectionate. Kasi parang siguro parang na-pent up emotions I guess or attribute ko sa sarili ko? Kasi before David, ang recipient ng affection ko yung family ko eh, yung parents ko, yung mga kapatid ko. Pero different kind of affection yun. Iba kasi kapag significant other mo yung ka-affection mo di ba? Nagugulat din ako sa sarili ko minsan na parang kaya ko palang lumevel sa pagiging sweet niya, sa pagiging caring niya. Parang it naturally appeared when we got married,” she shared with PUSH ABS-CBN during a Furniture Republic event held in Makati City.

With her husband based in Ireland and Glaiza busy working in the Philippines, she said that its still hard to decide which country they will settle in together in the future. “Being constantly moving, parang ang hirap i-set yung mind namin to stay in one place (laughs). Ang hirap na parang mag-decide na, ‘Okay, dito na tayo forever.’ I don’t think that will happen sa amin. Unless we have a child. It’s in the plans but it will happen sa tamang panahon. Sa ngayon parang we’re just enjoying each other’s company. Becuase I know that when that time comes, magiging priority na namin yung bata,” she explained.

Glaiza shared that one of the biggest things that she has in common with her husband is their shared love for travel. The two first met in 2018 when Glaiza went to Siargao island for her birthday. “I think we share that spirit of wanderlust or yung wanting to explore. Yung husband ko, talagang grabe siya. Mahilig talaga siyang mag-travel. He went here by himself in the Philippines for the first time. Tapos parang he found me (laughs),” she added.
For next year, Glaiza hopes to discover more new places with her husband and revealed some of the places on her bucket list. “Oh my gosh, ang dami ko pa gusto puntahan eh (laughs). Parang first out of the country ko, sa Hong Kong lang yun pero yun yung nag-open sa mind ko na ang saya pala mag-travel. Ang saya lumabas at mag-explore ng iba’t ibang countries. And from there, parang nag-sunod sunod na yung travel ko from different continents eh (laughs). Gusto ko pumunta sa Central America, ganyan, different parts of Europe. Ang dami pa eh. Parang there’s so much more to explore and to see. But I would definitely want to see more of Central America and Europe!” she said.
Apart from traveling, Glaiza also revealed a hint of what new plans she is also cooking up for her career next year. “More travels, I guess? (laughs), more international projects, I guess. Kasi lagi nga akong umaalis ng bansa. Parang every year, I make it a point to go somewhere new. Tapos since I stayed there sa UK for a few weeks, parang minsan naiisip ko na, I also wanted to do something there na hindi lang nagbabakasyon. Parang I also want to do a project relating to music or films, mga ganun. But ngayon I’m planning on starting something. I don’t want to spoil it. No, it’s not theater. But it’s something related to music!”
