Actress-turned-politician Aiko Melendez shared how a simple invite to her YouTube channel led to the blossoming relationship with fellow actor, Onemig Bondoc. In an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda earlier this week, the celebrity couple recalled the start of their love story which started with an invite to guest in the actress’ vlog.
Aiko and Onemig announced their relationship to the public earlier this year after rekindling their friendship and romance from 29 years ago.

“I have a YouTube channel and we were conceptualizing who to guest. At that time, parang yung show na ino-offer sa kanya as a comeback movie, pinaguusapan online. Sabi ng friend ko, why don’t we guest Onemig Bondoc–– I kept quiet. Sabi ko hindi pwede kasi may sama ng loob sa akin yan,” Aiko recalled.
As she messaged him two years ago, Aiko recalled the several excuses that Onemig gave her just to avoid guesting on her channel. It was only two years after that he was finally convinced to do the vlog with her.
“Hindi niya ako binalikan. In short, hindi niya ako binalikan. Sabi ko, ah ganun ah. After two years, sinuggest nanaman–– why don’t you guest him kasi nga magcocomeback siya doon sa show,” she maintained.
“Pwede mag-guest ka naman sa YouTube ko? YouTube lang to, hello. Sabi niya, sige na nga,” she added.
It was also in their brief message to one another where the actress shared that she was single which led to Onemig calling her right away.
“The rest is history,” Aiko quipped.
In his defense, the actor shared that he was having doubts about showing up on her YouTube channel two years ago because he had been gone from the limelight for several years already.
“Nung una parang nagdadalawang-isip ako tawagan siya pero parang may nagsasabi sa akin na tawagan mo na. So tinawagan ko siya and kaya pala yung two years na yun I was hesitant na lumabas sa TV nun kasi syempre I left the business nang matagal,” he admitted.

True enough, the rest is history for Aiko and Onemig as they rekindle the relationship they had with one another. The two asserted that they are both annulled from their previous partners and have shown each other the legal documents to prove it.
“May we just clarify that we are both annulled. Kasi online may nagsasabi hindi daw siya annulled and hindi ako annulled–– annulled po kami,” Aiko assured.
It was back in February of 2026 when Aiko and Onemig hardlaunched their relationship to the public.
