Radio DJ Eva Ronda of MOR 101.9 paid tribute to veteran radio personality DJ Martin D, who passed away on the morning of September 27 at the age of 56.
In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Eva recalled how Martin D, whose real name was Martin Oliver Solis Dipasupil, became an important part of her journey as a radio DJ and one of the people who believed in her potential early in her career.
“Para sa taong naniwala sa kakayahan ko that one day I can make it sa Philippine Radio kahit estudyante palang ako noon, sa taong nagparecord sa’kin ng sandamakmak na stingers at voice over at ang pinaka-favorite ko na ‘Saan ka Tatambay ngayong summer?! Sa Tambayan 101.9 For Life!’” Eva wrote.
Eva also remembered Martin D as one of her mentors who guided her as she learned the life of being a radio DJ and voice-over announcer.
“Sa isa sa mga nagmentor sakin kung paano maging isang magaling na voice over announcer and Radio DJ, kabanter ko tuwing Linggo sa YawsaLinggo, walang sawang nagpapaalala sakin na galingan ko in everything that I do. 😭❤️ Maraming maraming salamat sa nag-iisang legend sa Philippine Radio industry, ang MR. DJ nating lahat, Martin D! 🙏🏼❤️,” she added.
For Eva, the lessons and advice she received from Martin D will remain with her as she continues her career.
“I will forever put in my heart and in my mind all the wonderful things and reminders that you have thought me po, Sir Martin 🥺🙏🏼 Salamat po sa pagtitiwala at sa lahat ng mga advices and learnings 🙏🏼,” she said.
“Ikaw po ang isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit naabot ko ang isa sa mga pangarap ko 🥹🙏🏼 Love you po Sir Martin ❤️ May your soul rest in peace po 🙏🏼,” eva continued.
Martin D’s daughter, Yey Carteciano, announced his passing on Sunday, September 27, sharing that the family was still processing the loss.
“With deep sadness, we announce that our Papa Mrdj Martin D passed away this morning. We are still trying to process this painful loss, but we want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out, offered prayers, and extended their sympathy. Your kindness means the world to us during this incredibly difficult time,” she wrote.

In a separate post, Yey expressed the family’s gratitude to those who paid tribute to her father and shared details about his wake.
“Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out, sent messages, and left comments. Your kind words, prayers, and the beautiful tributes you are giving to our father have brought us immense comfort during this difficult time. We are truly grateful to see how deeply he was loved and how many lives he touched,” she stated.
Aside from Eva, former MOR DJs DJ ChaCha and DJ JhaiHo also remembered Martin D through their respective social media posts.
“Paalam sa nag-iisang OG, MRDJ Martin D. Isa sa haligi ng FM radio. Rest in peace, ChoMart. Your voice may have gone silent, but your legacy will forever live on in Philippine radio. Maraming salamat sa saya, musika, at mga alaalang iniwan mo sa ere. You will be missed,” DJ ChaCha said.
Meanwhile, DJ JhaiHo recalled how he grew up hearing Martin D’s voice on the radio before eventually working alongside him at MOR 101.9.
“Maraming Salamat po Mr DJ Martin D! Noong bata ako nakikita kolang mga Sticker niyo ni ChinaHeart sa BUS.. At isa ka sa mga Boses na naririnig ko sa radyo! Hanggang sa maka trabaho kita sa MOR 101.9! Maraming Salamat po sa lahat ng aral! Cho marts salamat sa always na pangangamusta.. pag babantay saaming mga bagong DJ sa FM Radio. You paved the way para mapunta kami sa kinalalagyan namin ngayon sa industriya. Maraming Salamat po For Life!” he expressed.
DZMM Radyo Patrol 630’s Mr. Right also shared his own tribute, remembering Martin D not only as a fellow radio personality but also as a friend.
“Tso Mart, salamat! Ang nag-iisang Matinding DJ Martin D. Dami ko sa iyong natutuhan. Yung iba kalokohan. Pero higit sa lahat ang pagiging kaibigan. Promise, hindi kita malilimutan. Basta, alam mo na yun!”
