Aguila Entertainment, the agency handling Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado, shared their official statement following the interview of Patrick Garcia earlier this week. On behalf of their talent, the agency maintained that she won’t be speaking about the issue any longer out of respect.
Jennylyn and Patrick share one child together, Alex Jazz, who the latter claimed he has not seen since 2017. In his interview with Ogie Diaz, the actor shared his version of the story from 18 years ago when the actress was still pregnant with their child.
In response to the interview which has gone viral on various social media platforms, Aguila Entertainment released an official statement to show their support for Jennylyn and her family.
“Our artist, Jennylyn Mercado, will not comment or grant any interview regarding Patrick Garcia’s statements on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel,” the agency shared.
As she chooses not to do an interview, the Kapuso actress’ agency maintained that she is hopeful there wouldn’t be any hurtful comments thrown at anyone, especially Patrick’s daughter, Michelle.
“Everyone is entitled to share their story on whatever platform they choose. In this case, Jennylyn would rather not share her side of the story out of respect for the privacy and peace of mind of both her family and Patrick’s,” Aguila Entertainment said.
In the interview, Patrick revealed that he had to speak up and break his silence as his daughter was receiving several rude comments from netizens about him supposedly abandoning Jazz.
“Rest assured that Jennylyn and her son, Jazz, are living a good and happy life with her husband, Dennis, daughter Dylan, and stepson Calix,” the statement ended.
Messages of support coming from netizens flooded the comment section as they hope Jennylyn and her family will be okay. Other netizens on various social media platforms gave their own opinion as to why Patrick decided to speak up about his son now.
