While Ice is now widely known for his work as an OPM singer-songwriter and acoustic artist, his connection to musical theater goes back to his childhood.
Ice landed his first stage production role in Little Shop of Horrors with Repertory Philippines. He later appeared in The Wiz, also with Repertory Philippines, where he played Dorothy.
As he grew older, Ice continued exploring musical theater, appearing in productions such as The Rocky Horror Show, Avenue Q, and Rock of Ages.
His upcoming concert therefore brings together two sides of his artistry, his experience in acting and his established career as a singer.
Even before the intimate concert, Ice had already given fans a glimpse of what they can expect from the show.
During the media conference for Ice Sings! held on October 5 in Quezon City, Ice performed “Part of Your World” from Disney’s The Little Mermaid and "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Misérables, showcasing the musical theater talent that has remained part of him throughout the years.
The singer-songwriter has been singing “Part of Your World” since he was seven years old, making the performance an especially personal preview of what audiences can expect from the concert.
During the media conference, Ice was joined by Liza along with several of their friends from the media.
But aside from the songs, Ice and Liza have also found a playful way to build excitement for the upcoming concert series through their own takes on beloved Disney characters.
On social media, Liza wore a blonde wig as she imitated Rapunzel while singing “Healing Incantation” from Tangled.
Ice joined in on the fun, sitting beside her while covering his face and hands with green paint and wearing hilarious fake eyes. He also stuck out his tongue as he imitated Pascal, the loyal chameleon pet of Rapunzel.
In another post, Ice transformed into Snow White, wearing a large red ribbon on his head and her iconic princess gown.
