MANILA -- Several Kapamilya stars showed their support to for Maris Racal's film "Sunshine" as they graced a block screening organized by ABS-CBN talent management Star Magic.
In her speech, Racal shared her thoughts about her award-winning movie.
"Sunshine may be a fictional character, but her story is faithfully real. She represents the many women who have faced unwanted pregnancies and have found themselves in situations they never chose. There are countless Sunshines in our country and across the world. Stories that unfold in silence, stories that live in the shadows, stories that may never see the light of day. This film is for them," Racal said.
She also thanked all those who attended the screening including her "Incognito" family.
Some of the Star Magic artists who attended the event were Alexa Ilacad, Yce Navarro, Emilio Daez, Reign Parani, Sean Tristan, Mutya Orquia, and Krystal Mejes.
Vhong Navarro -- who had a guest stint in "Incognito" -- and his "It's Showtime" co-host Jhong Hilario were also in attendance.
"Sunshine" follows the story of a young gymnast who discovers she is pregnant on the week of the national team tryouts.
Helmed by Antoinette Jadaone, "Sunshine" was produced by ANIMA Studios and Project 8 Projects.
Last month, "Sunshine" won two awards at the Austin Asian American Film Festival.
