Thai rock singer Nene Royal has won the 21st season of “America’s Got Talent,” beating magician Geno Ploeger in the competition’s finale.
The 16-year-old singer was announced as the winner Wednesday, September 23, U.S. time, following the public vote.
For her final performance, Royal went full rock star with a rendition of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.”
As the winner, Royal takes home the $1 million grand prize.
Born Rattikan “Praew” Amloy, Nene Royal made history as the first Thai act to win "AGT."
The teen rocker started her "AGT" journey with her performance of "Zombie" by The Cranberries during the auditions.
She then performed "Hysteria" by Muse during the Judges' Callbacks. It was Mel B who pressed the Golden Buzzer that sent her to the Finals after her performance of Soundgarden’s "Black Hole Sun" during the live quarterfinals.
Last year, Fil-American Jessica Sanchez was announced as the winner of the 20th edition of "AGT." She returned to the show Wednesday and performed with Lai Noelle.
