Boy group AHOF, which includes Filipino singer JL Gaspar among its members, debuted Tuesday in the K-pop scene with the release of their first extended play (EP) "Who We Are."
The EP consists of six tracks, all co-composed and arranged by EL CAPITXN, who has written songs for K-pop hitmakers BTS, Tomorrow X Together and IU, among others.
"Rendezvous" serves as the EP's lead single, which was released with an accompanying music video.
AHOF, short for "All-time Hall Of Famer," was formed through the reality talent competition "Universe League," which aired on South Korean broadcaster SBS from November 2024 to January 2025.
The nine members of the multinational group were selected from 42 contestants and includes Steven, Jeongwoo, Woongki, Shuaibo, Han, JL, Juwon, Chih En and Daisuke.
Prior to becoming part of AHOF, JL also debuted as a member of the P-pop group PLUUS.
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, JL said he had always dreamed of being a K-pop artist, inspired by Sandara Park, who had a career in Philippine showbiz before debuting in the iconic girl group 2NE1.

JL joins a growing number of Filipino artists who have debuted in the competitive K-pop industry, including Elisia Parmisano, Gehlee Dangca and Jin Hyeon-ju of the girl group UNIS, which is managed by the same agency as AHOF.
Other Filipino talents in the scene include Chanty of Lapillus and the all-Filipino boy band HORI7ON.
