Just days after revealing that changes were coming to both its group name and operating company name, MNL48 welcomed 2026 with a significant update about its management. In an official statement shared on Facebook on January 1, the Filipino idol group announced that its operating company name has officially changed, signaling a new phase as it moves forward in the evolving music scene.

“Happy New Year, and thank you very much for your continued warm support of MNL48,” the statement began. It then formally addressed the update that was first mentioned days earlier and shared that the transition to the new operating company name is effective by January 1, 2026.

MNL48’s former operating company name was MNL48 Inc. With the transition, the girl group’s new operating company name is now P.O.S Inc.

The group shared the meaning behind the new name, saying: “The new company name, ‘P.O.S’ is derived from ‘Pearl of the Orient Seas’ a phrase symbolizing the Philippines, and reflects our aspiration for MNL48 to continue shining even brighter in the years ahead.”

While the operating company has now been officially renamed, the group assured fans that the announcement regarding the group name change is scheduled to be made in the upcoming days of January 2026.

MNL48 also expressed optimism for what lies ahead, saying that they will “continue moving forward toward a new stage.”

“We sincerely appreciate your continued support and kindly ask for your ongoing encouragement,” the statement ended.

Following the announcement, fans quickly shared their thoughts online, with reactions ranging from excitement and curiosity to questions about the group’s future direction. Others expressed hope that the group’s identity would remain intact despite the changes.

“Napaka makabansa.. Gusto ko po.. Salamat..,” one supporter wrote.

“The question is mananatili ba sa style of music ng mnl48 or change the style of music?” one asked.

“In my opinion. Mas ok ang MNL. Kasi ito trademark ng pilipinas e.. lalo na d makikilala yan, kung lalayo sa manila... sana wag mapalitan ang name ng group. Kasi nagpalit un operating company,” a netizen maintained.
