Old School Records artist Chie's synth-pop anthem "Nahuhulog" returns for Season 4 of queer reality dating show, Sparks Camp.
Matching the bright, breezy atmosphere of Sparks Camp is the light and cool, youthful rhythm of the song "Nahuhulog" by Chie, which makes it return to the series' upcoming season on Sept. 16, after being introduced as last season's theme song.
Much like some of his other songs, Nahuhulog was composed by The Voice Teens Season 1 finalist himself, showcasing his prowess in both singing and songwriting.
The fresh and spirited tune of Nahuhulog is exactly the kind of melody one would want to hear play in the background as the campers show moments of expressing themselves out in the open.
Sparks Camp returns to bring a group of LGBTQIA+ individuals together, sharing their distinct stories to the public as they build connections with one another.
During the media launch on Sept. 11, Gian Carlo Isidro, Sparks Camp creative manager, shared that he felt excitement, as well as nervousness, for the show's continued run.
"Kaba in a good way kasi na-cchallenge talaga kami kung paano gagawin or pag-iisipan ng maganda 'yung Season 4," he said.
The new season teases an added boldness to the show and a focus on the campers' individualities.
With the show's exclusive move to iWant, director Theodore Boborol said that this allowed them to push its boldness to its limit, bringing a lot of firsts to the series, such as an overnight reward date, an excursion outside camp and a new area in the camp called "Momol-Land"—a booth where campers can isolate themselves from other campers with the freedom to do anything they desire.
Speaking on the selection process of the new cast, Boborol said, "This time, we were looking for campers na may unique and interesting queer stories, na pwede silang magkaroon ng closure sa camp."
Boborol added that the campers' presumed dynamics and profitability were also put into consideration.
Adding glow to the camp, alongside returning host and "Mother Sparker" Mela Habijan, is a diverse cast featuring personalities of different upbringings and gender expression. Joining this roster are Senior High actor Tommy Alejandrino, Joaquin Espiritu, Jury Fajardo, Howie Johnson, Gio Lopez, Ian Lubrica, EJ Magistrado, Taku Mori, Beej Mordeno and Michael Padiernos.
Habijan shares her excitement and graciousness on the return of Sparks Camp after having doubts that the show will go on.
"Isang malaking pasasalamat sa universe that we still get to tell queer stories and show what queer love is all about," she said.
Furthermore, Habijan teases the audience on what they will be looking forward to in the upcoming season—saying that the magic of the camp lies on the campers' individual journeys and stories.
