MANILA — A couple of weeks ago, Ice Seguerra and his partner Liza Dinio called out a vlogger who recorded and uploaded Ice’s last concert in full, online.

Although the uploaded materials were divided into many parts, collectively the videos showed the whole concert was recorded - and monetized.

Now, Ice will have another show - ‘Ice Sings: Musical Hits’ on November 6 and 7 at the Music Museum. With that experience from his most recent gig, have they thought of totally banning phones at the show?

“It was asked. Tinanong kami ng Solaire. Would you like to be very strict about it na no phones, like what they do in theater?” shared Ice.

He continued, “So inisip namin yun, pero yun nga babalik din kami doon sa ‘eh kami fans din kami eh’. Kami pag nanonood kami ng mga paborito naming singers, banda, we would take videos.”

“Ayaw din naming tanggalin yung experience na yun na meron silang memorabilia, kasi ako, I would go back to those videos na shinoot ko, over and over.”

“But uploading it, and making money of of it intentionally. I think nangyayari na yun eh, people go, these vloggers go sa concerts kasi they intend to shoot it and really upload and make money of of it. If you enjoy our concert and you wanna take a video of it for keepsake, para sa yo, or kahit upload mo lang sa Facebook mo na ‘I’m here’, (go ahead).”

Have they taken legal steps or have they reached out to settle with the vlogger and her uploaded videos?

“Yes and they have reached out to us”, said Liza. “Ako naniniwala ako sa maayos na pag-uusap. Siguro nagkaroon lang ng miscommunication.”

During the media launch, Ice sampled ‘Part of your world’ from the Disney movie ‘The Little Mermaid’, and he assured fans that this upcoming will be a different experience filled with the world’s best musical hits.
