Recorded in the United States, "Unlove You" reunites Lawrence with his close friend and long-time creative collaborator, Grammy Award-winning songwriter and "Britain’s Got Talent" alumnus Lil Eddie. Known for his 2013 smash hit "Statue," the Filipino-Puerto Rican singer-producer boasts a legendary resume, having written and produced for music royalty, including Usher, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Maluma, Daddy Yankee, and Britney Spears. Lil Eddie also co-wrote "Nobody," Lawrence's hit dedicated to Katie.
“I’m super excited because Lil Eddie is in town to help promote 'Unlove You,'” Lawrence reveals with infectious excitement. “He wrote the song in just two hours. My producer in the States, Chokobeats, and I built the groove and constructed the entire track around that opening guitar hook.”
The track is currently streaming on Spotify, accompanied by both a lyric video and an official music video filmed in Los Angeles, California, featuring Lil Eddie and model Chey.
Choosing peace over pride for Katie
Genuinely touched by the overwhelmingly positive response to their Mr. & Ms. B dynamic, Lawrence remains humble about the viral attention.
“I feel so grateful that we’re being received so warmly by netizens,” he shares. “It makes us feel like we’re heading in the right direction. Where it leads, we don’t know, but we’re just taking it day by day and going with the flow.”
