The decades-spanning love story of star-crossed lovers, Apollo and Luna, has finally reached the big screen! Played by Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, the on-screen pair took center stage at the world premiere of “Always Yours, Never Mine”, held at SM Megamall on Tuesday, September 29.
True to the film’s celestial motif, the stars aligned for a memorable night as the cast and their supporters gathered to celebrate the latest offering from Star Cinema.
Leading the way were Apollo and Luna themselves, Joshua and Julia, who walked the red carpet hand-in-hand, welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd. Both stars also made fashion statements that gave subtle nods to their characters' names.
Joshua looked dashing in an all-black ensemble featuring a coat and slacks, with constellation embroidery adding a striking detail to his look. Julia then dazzled in an evening gown adorned with sparkling sequins and silver moon, sun, and star details.
The rest of the cast also made their presence felt on the red carpet. Bianca Umali stood out in a sophisticated beige satin ensemble. Meanwhile, Joy Barcoma, Karen Reyes, Bob Jbeili, Migs Almendras, Franco Laurel, Reign Parani, and Paulo Angeles walked together, flashing their smiles and showcasing their own stylish red carpet looks.
Feeling all the support and excitement in the air, the cast settled inside the cinema, the lights dimming as the much-awaited screening began.
As soon as the credits rolled, the stars took a moment to thank everyone who came to celebrate the film with them.
Joshua kept his message simple and heartfelt, saying, “Salamat po sa lahat ng nagbigay ng oras... Na-appreciate ko po kayong lahat.”
Julia acknowledged the journey that went into making the film, adding, “Grabe po ang pinagdaanan namin sa pelikulang ito. Sana po nagustuhan ninyo, sana po suportahan ninyo.”
She handed over the microphone to Bianca, who echoed the same gratitude and reflected on the work that went into bringing the story to life: “Hindi rin po biro ‘yung pinagdaanan namin sa pagbuo ng pelikula. But this is the magic, and thank you very much for feeling it.”
Just as the cast of "Always Yours, Never Mine" poured their hearts into the film, their loved ones, friends, and fellow artists also showed up to give their all-out support at the world premiere.
Julia’s family was there to celebrate with her, with her mother Marjorie Barretto and siblings, Dani and Leon, gracing the red carpet. Joshua’s family also showed their support, arriving in coordinated all-black ensembles and posing for photos.
There was also no shortage of familiar faces at the premiere. Leading men Piolo Pascual, Iñigo Pascual, Kyle Echarri, and River Joseph arrived together, while Donny Pangilinan and Maris Racal also walked down the red carpet, greeting the crowd along the way.
ABS-CBN executives also joined the celebration, including Mr. Ernie Lopez with his wife Michelle Arville-Lopez, as well as COO for broadcast, Ms. Cory Vidanes.
Kapuso stars also came out to support the film. Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Mikee Quintos, Kokoy de Santos, Caprice Cayetano, and Bianca’s partner, Ruru Madrid, were among the other notable personalities who graced the event.
The premiere also brought together several musicians, including Ice Seguerra, whose rendition of Nonoy Zuñiga's “Kumusta Ka” serves as the film’s official theme song. He attended the premiere with his wife, Liza Diño.
Maki, Kiyo, SB19’s Justin de Dios, and P-pop boy group 1621 were also among the singers who joined the celebration.
It was indeed a star-studded movie night for these celebrities who were spotted walking the red carpet together. The crowd swooned over married couple Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon, while Kaori Oinuma and Elyson de Dios, as well as Ralph de Leon and AZ Martinez, also made appearances as pairs.
Other notable personalities who graced the red carpet include KC Constantino, IC Mendoza, Gabby Eigenmann, Andi Abaya, director Ivan Andrew Payawal, Miggy Jimenez, Jas Dudley-Scales, Nicole Cordoves, Benedict Cua, and many more.
With the cast, creators, families, friends, and fellow stars all coming together for one special night, the world premiere became a celebration of the story at the heart of “Always Yours, Never Mine” — a love that stretches across time, changes with the people who experience it, and continues to ask what it truly means to choose someone.
