Ayegee Paredes’ powerful vocals have shined through numerous singing competitions, though she’s best remembered as a grand finalist on the fourth season of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” and most recently as a versatile Resident Jammer on the ever-colorful “Everybody, Sing!”
Following the season finale episodes of “Everybody, Sing!” on October 3 and 4, where Ayegee’s superb vocal range was proven even further with successive power ballad songs, she then happily shared her memorable experiences in this exclusive interview!
As the show reached its successful conclusion, Ayegee felt honored that she became an important part of it but also a little saddened since it was finally time to bid farewell. Moreover, she talked proudly about her improvements as a singer, given that she started off stiff and often got worried about making mistakes during tapings.
“Ang daming challenges nito, may mga songs na iniiwasan ko na dito ko nakakasalubong… Hindi ko [rin] ramdam na solo singer [lang] ako, parang naging teamwork siya,” Ayegee said.
Every single episode was absolutely a highlight for Ayegee, especially since there was always something new, including the challenging tracks that she needed to perform flawlessly. Later on, she mentioned her astonishing execution of Regine Velasquez’s rendition of “Never Ever Say Goodbye” in the episode with the Songbayanang TNVS drivers.
“‘Yung takot ko na-overcome ko… [During] ‘Never Ever Say Goodbye,’ akala ko hindi ko na kasi maaabot [‘yung range],” she explained.
The songstress naturally encountered various obstacles, such as learning the songs quickly, keeping track of the last note she delivered, mastering unfamiliar music, and being careful to avoid accidentally giving the correct answers to the players. There were times when her memory was tested, along with her stuttering and falling out of tune, but in the end, she emerged as a better vocalist.
Regarding her working experience with the Unkabogable Host Vice Ganda, Ayegee recalled the days when she first watched Vice entertaining audiences at the Punchline and Laffline comedy bars. Upon joining “Tawag ng Tanghalan” in 2020, Ayegee wasn’t actually expecting Vice to even remember her, though they eventually grew closer throughout “TNT: All-Star Grand Resbak 2025.”
“Dati ko na siyang pinapanood, hindi pa siya celebrity hanggang sa naging big star [na] siya… Nung sumali ako sa ‘TNT,’ nakilala niya ako. Sa comedy bar kasi isang mundo lang ‘yung ginagalawan namin, [pero] hindi ko in-expect na mererecognize niya ako,” she elaborated.
Speaking about her unforgettable moments with Vice, Ayegee truly enjoyed the times she was teased for her accidental off-key singing, as well as when Vice would playfully urge her to raise her vocal range on the spot.
