There's a new resort in Siargao, and it combines creature comforts with an incredible location — right in front of the world-famous Cloud 9 surf break.
Hue Siargao is a vision that was more than a decade in the making. Siblings Dennis and Dexter Lee first visited the surfing capital in the early 2010s to hit the waves, and eventually fell in love with the island's overall vibe and strong sense of community.
Years after the COVID-19 pandemic derailed their plans, they finally launched the property in late July as the third Hue resort after Palawan and Boracay.
"There are only two places in Siargao with this view of Cloud 9. Here, and the place beside us," Dennis shared during the grand launch, which ABS-CBN News attended with select media and content creators.
"We have an unobstructed view of Cloud 9. It's hard to beat this location."

Naturally, the Lee siblings wanted to make the most out of the coastal views. They initially thought of setting up Hue Siargao as an all-casita resort, but later on incorporated hotel-style rooms in a multi-level layout so more guests can get a glimpse of the sea.
The 33 accommodations vary in size (some have their own mini garden, others have private pools), but each offers a slice of paradise.

This theme of inclusivity carries on throughout the 4-star resort — for Dennis and Dexter, the goal is to cater to all types of travelers, from surfing enthusiasts to families, couples, solo travelers, and even digital nomads.
There's an infinity pool and a smaller cave-style pool, with the latter available for walk-in guests (a rarity in upscale Siargao resorts). Other amenities include a co-working space with small conference rooms for those who can't go off the grid, a kids' play club that is the first of its kind on the island (it has attracted families all the way from Surigao), and a fitness center with high-grade equipment, a Pilates area, and a recovery room with an ice plunge and sauna.
"Coming from the name of the resort which is Hue, we want to provide variety or different colors to all kinds of guests," said Alec Yatco, group general manager for Hue Hotels and Resorts. "We want every type of traveler to have something that they can do in our property."

Hue Siargao is obviously stunning — but more than the views and the amenities, its beauty lies in its respect for the environment and the community.
The resort embraced the natural topography instead of altering it, with the solar-powered structures designed around existing trees in the property. The wave-like roofs of the casitas also go beyond aesthetics, offering better wind resistance during the typhoon season.

And by championing collaboration and Filipino talent, the resort goes beyond the surface and provides guests with a deeper connection to the island.
The cafe, dubbed as Hue Siargao's "living room," doubles as an incubator for Siargao's artisans and entrepreneurs. Here, they can take part in pop-up events, allowing them to showcase their products to a wider market.
"We want to build a space for people to gather so that communities can grow," said Dexter, who added that the space also "allows locals to experience things coming from Manila."
