MANILA — Japanese yakitori chain Torikizoku will open its first Philippine restaurant on October 12 at Serendra in Bonifacio Global City, bringing its signature grilled chicken skewers and casual izakaya-style dining to the country.
Founded in Osaka in 1985, Torikizoku has grown to more than 600 restaurants across Japan and has expanded into international markets under its Global YAKITORI Family.
The Serendra branch will center on yakitori, with chicken skewers grilled to order alongside other Japanese dishes. The restaurant is designed around a casual dining experience where guests can eat, drink and socialize.
Ahead of the opening, the brand has begun its countdown around Serendra with installations of Torikki, its yellow mascot. The displays feature the character in poses inspired by both Japanese and Filipino culture and are illuminated at night.
Each installation includes a QR code that visitors can scan for information about the Philippine branch and reservations.
The Philippine launch also introduces “Toriki Tayo,” a local campaign built around the idea of gathering over food and conversation.
