MANILA — With sudden downpours and intense heat becoming familiar parts of the daily commute, Casio Philippines is highlighting five G-Shock models designed to withstand the demands of city life.
The five watches feature G-Shock’s shock-resistant construction and 200-meter water resistance, along with practical functions such as timers, world time and LED illumination.
“Filipino commuters deal with a lot in a single day, whether it’s a sudden downpour or a train car that feels like an oven,” said Sena Kuroda, regional sales manager of Casio Philippines. “G-Shock was built for exactly that kind of unpredictability.”
The lineup includes the GA-140-1A1, priced at P8,860, which takes inspiration from the oversized GA-100 case and incorporates a dial design influenced by ’80s and ’90s boomboxes and portable stereos.
The GA-700-1A, priced at P7,920, features a three-dimensional face, sculpted hands and a five-year battery. Its front button provides quick access to the LED illumination.
For longer-term use, the GA-010-1A (P7,770) and GD-010-1 (P7,960) come with 10-year batteries and use bio-based resin. Both feature a front button for high-brightness LED illumination and black finishes suited to everyday wear.
The GA-010-1A combines an analog-digital display with a textured dial, while the GD-010-1 features a large digital display designed for quick readability.
Rounding out the lineup is the GA-100-1A1, priced at P8,870. The black model combines four digital displays with aluminum hands and includes high magnetic resistance, designed to help protect its timekeeping from magnetic fields produced by common electronic devices and equipment.
