MANILA -- Brent Manalo, Kolette Madelo, and Jarren Garcia will make their theater debut in the upcoming play "The Art of Breaking Up."
The stage production, based on George de Jesus III's "Kung Paano Maghiwalay," is a collaboration of PETA Plus and Teatro Kapamilya.
Manalo admitted the challenge, albeit out of his comfort zone, is something he is excited about.
"Kabado. Grabe pressure pag pasok ko dito sa kwarto—I was greeted by such a talented and amazing cast. Mas dumoble pressure sa'kin. Teatro kasi malaki galaw. Ever since I have been meek, tahimik, so bago ito sa akin," he said Friday at the PETA Theater in Quezon city.
Madelo likewise added she is looking forward to the experience despite her nerves.
"Kinakabahan pero excited kasi first time ko mag-script reading and mag-perform," she said.
Garcia, meanwhile, sees theater as an opportunity to further grow as a performer.
"I was super excited to do it. It is a good way for artists to hone their skills, whether singing, acting. Theater has all the fundamentals to train a good artist," Garcia said.
"The Art of Breaking Up" will run in November.
