MANILA – Minimum wage earners in Metro Manila will receive a P60 daily wage increase starting Saturday, September 26, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced.
Under Wage Order No. NCR-28, the minimum wage for non-agricultural workers rises to P755 from P695 per day.
The rate for workers in agriculture, small retail and service establishments with 15 or fewer employees, and small manufacturing establishments with fewer than 10 workers increases to P718 from P658 per day.
NCR wage board approves P60 pay hike
DOLE said around 1.1 million workers are expected to benefit from the wage hike.
DOLE Secretary Francis Tolentino urged employers to comply with the new rates and update their payroll systems.
“Dito natin naipakita ang kabuluhan ng isang tripartite mechanism kung saan ang pamahalaan, ang employers’ groups, at ang employees’ groups ay nagkakaisa para isulong at iangat ang dangal ng manggagawang Pilipino,” Tolentino said.
DOLE said it will monitor compliance with the new wage rates.
The wage order was approved through the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-NCR and confirmed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission.
