MANILA - After 17 long years of separation, Mary Jane Veloso is finally back in the arms of her family.
The emotional reunion happened in the early hours of Saturday, September 26, as her parents and children arrived at the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City, where they were finally able to embrace Veloso once again.
Mary Jane Veloso’s parents and children arrived at CIW at around 12:07 a.m. aboard a coaster carrying other members of Veloso’s family.
The family is now headed to a hotel in Padre Faura, Manila, where they will spend the night before returning to their home in Nueva Ecija tomorrow.

They were accompanied by lawyers from the National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers (NUPL) and Migrante International, as well as representatives from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
Family members embraced, cried and held hands as they finally reunited.
Veloso, meanwhile, expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her throughout her long ordeal.
“Sobrang saya ko po maraming salamat po,” Veloso said.
