MANILA — 2023 NBA MVP Joel Embiid has partnered with a footwear brand for his newest signature shoe, the SKX JE1.
In a statement made available to the media, Embiid shared how he was involved in creating the SKX JE1 with Skechers.
“I’ve been working with Skechers on fine-tuning every detail of the SKX JE1 and I’m excited to share it with the world,” said Embiid. “Skechers strives for excellence in performance and comfort, so I couldn’t ask for a better partner in creating this signature shoe.”

The SKX JE1 offers a 5GEN cushioning, a Move Foam insole, and an internal nylon shank for comfort and stability, giving the player the comfort he needs when changing his direction on the court.
“We’ve worked side-by-side with Joel building to this moment of his first signature shoe with Skechers—the SKX JE1,” said Ben Stewart, vice president at Skechers' Technical Performance Division.

It also has Goodyear rubber outsole, while the design reflects the Cameroonian-American's "harmony in the chaos" that he found in his basketball career.
Skechers has released the shoes globally, and will be available in the Philippines at select Skechers stores starting December 16 at One Ayala, Glorietta, Greenhills and Gateway 2.
