Angela Davocol/NCAA Philippines.MANILA — Jose Rizal University bounced back in style, dominating Lyceum of the Philippines University, 94-69, in NCAA Season 102 men’s basketball on Tuesday evening at the FilOil Centre in San Juan.
Jamhir Eligado’s perfect performance powered the Heavy Bombers to their third victory in four games in Group A, with the forward tallying 22 points and 16 rebounds on a 10-of-10 shooting clip.
“Thankful ako na binibigyan ako ng minuto ni Coach Nani [Epondulan] pero ginagawa ko lang yung trabaho ko,” said Eligado, as JRU recovered from its 65-62 loss to San Beda University on Saturday.
Lawrence Mangubat was also vital with 23 points, five assists, and five rebounds, while Chris Hubilla finished with nine points and six rebounds for JRU, which led by as much as 34 points.
On the other hand, the Pirates absorbed their third loss in four outings despite Roger Ondoa’s 21 points and Simon Peñafiel’s 12 points.
