The Gilas Pilipinas Women completed their sweep of the pool stage after denying Malaysia, 17-12, in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Wednesday at the Kinjo Futo Station Square Venue in Japan.
Kacey Dela Rosa impressed once more with eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocks for the Philippines, which also defeated Mongolia and Macao earlier in the round.
Maria Pasilang followed with six points and seven rebounds, while Amyah Espanol added two points and six rebounds and Kennan Ka tallied a point and three boards.
Gilas now turns its attention to the quarterfinals on Thursday evening. The Philippines’ opponent will be determined after the play-in round in the afternoon.
On the other hand, Chong Elaine led Malaysia with four points and five rebounds in the loss.
Sammi Tan and Ercia Ng each scored three points, while Ler Low tallied two points and seven rebounds.
