The Philippines will face host Japan in the Finals at 6 p.m., with the victory assuring Gilas of at least a silver medal in the 3x3 basketball competition.
Maria Pasilang led Gilas with five points, seven rebounds, and an assist as they fended off Thailand’s comeback hopes, while Kacey Dela Rosa tallied four points and three rebounds.
Kennan Ka added three points, while Amyah Espanol had one point and five rebounds.
Thailand, on the other hand, will face Korea in the battle for bronze at 5 p.m., after the South Koreans succumbed to Japan, 19-8, in their semifinal clash earlier.
Kwanjira Panted led Thailand with four points, Palida Naumkong had three points, while Apichaya Khamkaew scored one point.
