MANILA – Double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo and Asian Games bronze medalist Eldrew are heading to France for a training camp ahead of the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships set for later this month.
Carlos took home two gold medals and Eldrew a bronze at the continental showcase in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan last month.
Since then, the Yulo brothers have been taking the time to rest and spend time with their loved ones to celebrate their achievement at the 2026 Asian Games.

"Nagpahinga po talaga kami after ng Asian Games. Super stressful siyempre, not only mentally but also physically. So we really had a good time na mas ma-prepare body namin na pumasok ulit sa intense na training," the elder Yulo told reporters at the Team Philippines homecoming on Monday.
The Yulo brothers are set to leave on Tuesday for Antin, France where they will hold their training camp before the World Championships.
When asked if he could pull off another golden double just like he did at the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2026 Asian Games, Carlos said he is more focused on getting a feel of his competitors ahead of the qualifications for the 2028 Summer Games.
"I'm gonna do my best po to show up. Hindi naman po ako din nag-e-expect ng anything sa World Championships. Gusto ko lang din makita po yung mga competitors and paano po yung ikot sa World Championships. And pinaka-importante po is yung next year na World Championships kasi yun po yung qualification for Olympics," the elder Yulo explained.
"So this time really just to feel the rotation ng World Championships. Ayun lang po. And praying na maging safe po lahat ng routines and preparation po namin papuntang Netherlands po," he added.
After completing his gold medal collection at the Asian Games, Yulo said the Asiad gold shows that the hard work and consistency that he puts in has been paying off.

"Achieving it [Asian Games gold medal] ng kumpleto, siguro nakikita ko lang din po yung consistency ko sa pag-prepare po. But at the same time, marami pa din po talagang butas and kailangan talaga siyang trabahuhin," he said.
"At yeah, palagi ako natututo sa mga trial ko po and hindi naman po, hindi ko naman po sinasabing hindi siya mahirap pero doable and achievable naman po. Lahat po ng resulta na nakamit ko. Pero siyempre, hindi ko din po yun kayang magampanan kung wala pong tamang support," the elder Yulo pointed out.
As for Eldrew, he's taking the gains and lessons he got from his Asiad debut as they are set to begin the journey to LA2028.
"Binigyan niya po ako ng more motivation to do my very best po sa susunod po na competitions and binigyan niya rin po ako ng mga rooms to improve or kung ano po yung pwede kong improve to get sa LA," the younger Yulo said.
The 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships will take place from October 17 to 25 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
