Since his first fan tour two years ago, Kim Soo-hyun admitted that he couldn’t help but miss his Filipino fans. The South Korean heartthrob, who starred in popular kdrama series like My Love From the Star and Queen of Tears returns to the country for the third time.
His fans in Manila are extra excited because its been a year since the 38-year-old actor and model has gradually started returning to the limelight starting with his Manila fan meet “Our Forever With You” on October 2 at the Mall of Asia arena in Pasay City.
During his presscon held last October 1 in Makati City, Kim Soo-hyun shared how he felt the moment he landed back in Manila this year, as translated by ann interpreter.
“First of all, I want to say thank you for the love and support you’ve been giving me so consistently for such a long time. The moment that I got off the airport, I was able to see fans cheering for me and greeting me, showing their affection for me. And I was even able to see some fans who were waving their hards for me and somehow stomping their feet for me. So all those moments and expressions that the fans have showed for me, those were really memorable in my mind,” he said.
The Bench ambassador also shared what he finds the most special about his Pinoy fans, which is also a big reason why he will never get tired of coming back to the Philippines.
“Of course the first word (I can think of when I think of them) is warmth and the sparkling of of their eyes and the passion coming out from them. I think this is a word or expression that I have every time I visit here in the Philippines, because the eyes of the Filipino people are very sparkling. Actually in my previous visits here for Bench, I mentioned this, that they have the eyes of an angel. And I think that impression stays the same in this visit as well,” he explained.

Soo-hyun also wanted to share that there will be some surprises during his comeback fan meet this year.
“It’s a secret for now (if I’m going to sing). So it’s actually something that I’ve been really looking forward to as well. Because I heard that my fans prepared a very special segment for me. This is something I’ve been looking forward to and it’s something that we can figure out together tomorrow. The segment that the fans have prepared for me is what I’m looking forward to the most. And of course, when I stand up and enter the stage, the good energy that I’ll be receiving from my fans is also something I really look forward to. I’m glad I was able to visit here in the Philippines again and I hope we all have an enjoyable and memorable day together,” he added.
During a short Q & A with the local media, Soo-hyun gamely shared one thing fans may not yet already know about him.
“So one thing that I could tell is that actually it’s been a really long time since I brought out the camera from my closet. I used to have this hobby in my 20s. So after a long time I was able to bring it out again and because of having photography as one of my hobbies, it actually helped me have a different look at things because I’ve been having this habit of observing my surroundings more clearly wherever I go and naturally check where the light is going and how the shadows are being made. So those are the things that are a really new kind of routine that I had recently,” he admitted.
Before ending the interview, Soo-hyun candidly shared his biggest wish as he meets with fans again on October 2. “I actually want my fans to tell me that they miss me. Mahal ko kayo. Maraming salamat po. Kitakits bukas!”
